Q: What are the main air pollutants associated with adverse health effects?
A: Several pollutants are important, however the associated risk may vary with time, due to the increase or decrease of certain anthropogenic activities. Also, as the impact of new, potentially more dangerous pollutants is recognised by researchers, the focus on particular pollutants may change. Recently, particulate matter has been a pollutant of particular concern.
